A familiar tale

Sunday 8 March

Only three bets advised today on the horses and an early finish for me.

Optimum put up a 3pt e/w bet on their horse No Supper, and he absolutely hosed up at 7/2.

That's where the good news ends though. SLH advised a 2pt e/w double on Maxwellton Braes and Quentin Collonges, and the bet went down straight away with Maxwellton Braes very tired at the end and overtaken on the run in to finish 4th. Quentin Collonges was beaten a short head.

Maths advised an each way on Classic Cut and as has been so often the case this year, ran a fine race but one too good again - second to the favourite Sphinx.

Nothing doing on the golf this week either, Karrie Webb launched her charge too late to get in the money - shot 6 under in her final round to miss the places by two shots. Nothing doing in the US golf either so I'll book those losses today.

If you get the impression that I'm not particularly enjoying this at the moment, you'd be right.

The Cheltenham Festival is now only two days away, and surely I'm due a change in fortune. Now would be a good time !!

Back later with the profit and loss figures.
