Profit and Loss w/e 22/03/09

**** edited 10.15pm Sunday ****

Another disappointing week to report on the horses, with still no progress being made in terms of profit. However Retief Goosen has just won the Transitions golf tourny in the US tonight, so a very welcome pick up of £1250 on the event which has put an entirely different complexion on the week.

A losing week on the racing, despite a 14/1 winner in midweek, and things really have got to start moving forward here.

A couple of false starts, £5000 up at the end of January which was all lost by the beginning of March, and then £6000 up by the Wednesday of Cheltenham week, which has pretty much gone. Of course I have no control over what happens to the profit and loss, it's up to the tipsters to produce the goods. Plenty of near misses recently, but it's winners I need - nothing else will do.

I am trying to bring trading into my daily betting activities, which will help things along a bit, however this is only really possible on days when I am not at work - just too busy otherwise.

Maybe I also need to incorporate some elements of the staking advice from the services themselves - analysis of results has shown the plan I'm following is much the best to maximise profits in the long term, however it may help things along to have something to go alongside it.

As you can see at the bottom of this weekly analysis, most of the services are doing ok to their staking plans, it's the distribution between winners and places which is causing a major discrepancy at the moment.

This betting lark is permanently a work in progress, and as long as I ultimately get out of it what I want, them I'm not too bothered how I achieve it.

The win on the golf has certainly improved my mood tonight, however it's the horses which are the mainstay of this blog and I need a good steady couple of weeks to get some profits in the bank, and give me something to build on.

JP,

You know as soon as you change your win only format the big winners will come...its percentages.

Hi mate,

Not thinking of changing the plan, merely adding something to complement it.

What that something is remains to be seen, but I'm working on it !

Hiya JP,

Have you thought about incorporating free bets from someone who seems to know what they're doing? LOL

All the best mate, I'm sure a run of winners is just around the corner for you.

Cheers
Mick

Told you the winners were just around the corner, great result mate. I don't know if you read the Post, but you and Steve Palmer have a fair bit in common. You both win on the golf and it pays for your fun bets - lol

aye Mick, I could write that column myself !

The golf is certainly out-performing the horses so far this year, but I'll take £1000 a week wherever it comes from !!!
