Another Top Day

Thursday 30 April

I've been racking up big profits this month, and the last day was no exception.

Another winner for Tipping Legends, and an each play place on Chilbury Hill - backed this e/w for a change as I saw a tip for it elsewhere. I also had £50 win on it, which is part of the personal bets figure.

Paul Jones list managed to find Blueberry Boy at 25/1. Also spotlighted all the shorties which won on the card. Didn't back any of them, hindsight is a wonderful think but doubles and trebles was probably the way to go. So again didn't play these to their best advantage today - but it's always a tough call, worked ok yesterday and see how it goes tomorrow.

Equine Investments starts up for the flat tomorrow, and looking forward to seeing how this goes - will be interesting to see how the prices stand up if they put one up. Then I'll know what I'm up against for the summer.

Another blog to keep an eye on is High Class Equine - see link on right. Looks to be a high quality site, and they're off to a good start with their tips.

Had £25 e/w on their 11/2 winner today, and will be following their selections from now on with great interest.

Looking at one or two other options to add to the portfolio over the coming weeks, will update as and when I make any decisions. My sub with Optimum is up at the end of June, and the way I feel at the moment I'm not inclined to renew. Things have not gone well this winter, and the staking plan and direction the service is taking is concerning me. More on that nearer the time, see how they get on over the next few weeks.

Profitable Day, Expensive Night

Wednesday 29 April

Another profitable day, as Tipping Legends continued their fine recent run - ten winners in the last week or so from them now.

SLH also carried on his fine form with a 4 point winner Nile Moon, eventually returning an SP of 5/2 having been advised at 2/1. Had to play this one slightly differently this time - was driving home when the bet was given out, and so went straight to Bet365 and had £200 on it at their 15/8, with the intention of trading it when I got home. In the end I left an in-running lay of £200 @ 1.5, which was eventually matched, and so made a profit of £400 on the race.

Paul Jones e-mails were right on the money again today - the only race he didn't really nail was the first on which he commented "As you can tell, I have little enthusiasm for this dross of a race", so it was my own fault I lost there ! In the bumper, he had to field against Dunguib at the price, but that is a serious racehorse and hopefully he will stay sound and go right to the top.

Things took a turn for the worse in the evening at Kempton with losers for The Form Analyst, Making It Pay, SLH A/W and Maths (x2). But, despite that, it was a cracking day again.

Still going the right way

Tuesday 28 April

Back at work today, and as dull as ever - struggling to find any sort of motivation these days. I only work part-time, but I've won more this month from betting than I will earn this year from the job, so it's only a matter a time before I make the jump I think.

Paul Jones makes another appearance this week with his trends for the Punchestown festival. Must admit I struggled to decide how to play these initially - probably due to being at work and being short of time. Followed some of Paul's suggested bets and backed some of those shortlisted as well, probably didn't get the max out of it, particularly the first race but ultimately did OK - getting 14/1 about Rare Bob was the highlight, but a bit peeved that Joncol was run out of second close home as I'd also done the forecast.

The last winner was enjoyable as well, not least for commentator Des Scahill's attempts to pronounce Quantitativeeasing. Don't think he got it right once in about 20 attempts !

Optimum's flat season began today, along with their new staking plan but they're still right out of luck. A split stake bet in the 5.05 at Bath on Crimson Fern and Siren's Gift was undone by Looks Busy who got up on the line to beat Crimson Fern (didn't get clear run) by a nose with Siren's Gift a head away in third.

Not quite sure how I'm going to stake the Optimum bets now - have settled on £50 per point on these 1 and 2 point bets, but I'm certainly not staking 6 points on any of their other advices. Probably stick to £100 level stakes on those. See how the next few weeks go and take it from there.

SLH found Polish Power at Lingfield, who reeled in Nawamees in the last strides, while Tipping Legends came up empty handed from their two bets.

Rory Sabbatini

If you think betting on horses puts you through the ringer at times, then you should try golf.

Rory Sabbatini just finished in a four way tie for second, one shot behind the leader, but boy did he blow some chances on the back nine.

At the 16th he was just off the green with his tee shot, if the flag had been out his second shot would probably have gone in for eagle but it lipped out - then he missed the two footer for his birdie ! Lipped out a couple of other putts on the back nine as well, so it could have been his - but not this time.

Bad news from the LPGA Corona Championship - Seon Hwa Lee, my each way bet at 50/1, finished in 7th place - one shot out of the money. She got it to 15 under by the 10th hole, but couldn't make any further progress and that was her final score.

Eventful evening though, nearly copped another big one but still it's more profit - will update the results tomorrow, time for bed now !

Profit and Loss w/e 26/04/09

Another absolutely cracking week, and it might not be finished yet. As I write this, both the golfers mentioned in todays post are currently in the e/w places mid-way through their final rounds - a lot can happen yet, but it's all going well right now.

So far though, a profit on the week of £5011, to take the yearly profit soaring over the £15,000 mark.

Quiet Sunday

Sunday 26 April

Very quiet on the horses today with only Tipping Legends playing. Two horses from them, but couldn't add anything more to their good week.

Will put up the profit and loss details shortly, but still got a couple of chances of payouts in the golf tonight.

More likely to come up empty handed than collect, but Rory Sabbatini is currently -8 having just started his final round. He is 5 shots behind the leader but only one off third place. The leaderboard is really congested with the leader three in front and then 17 players within 2 shots of each other. So might get 2nd, might finish 20th - £100 each way at 28/1 in my bet, just hoping to have something worth watching later on tonight.

in the LPGA Corona Championship, I'm on Seon Hwa Lee (yeah, me neither) who is currently 2 shots off the places (tied 9th) although too far off the pace to get the win. Place would be great though as I've had £100 e/w @ 50/1.

Onwards and Upwards

Saturday 25 April

Another amazing day and for the third time in four days, it's a four figure profit - unbelievable really.

Best of the day was the Form Analyst who gave out Dunn'o - a game 12/1 winner in the last at Sandown. Looked booked for second until rallying again to get back up close home.

Tipping Legends recent record on Saturdays has been pretty dismal, so the victory of Friends Of Tina - advised at 10/1 was very welcome. Only managed 9/1 on my bet, but no worries.

Friday Update

Friday 24 April

Well I had a great night last night and feeling pretty good today - bit of a thick head when I got up this morning but that's gone now and ready for the today's action.

Thanks very much for the good wishes yesterday, on here and on Graeme's forum - much appreciated.

As far as the betting went yesterday, a late winner from Tipping Legends kept losses down to a minimum.

SLH and Maths fought out a draw on their exchange services with SLH wanting to back Sea Storm and Maths wanting to lay it. Maths got it right but the two bets cancelled each other out - but Maths also tipped the winner as a selection, backed from the morning 13/8 to an SP of evens.

Today's bets beginning to come through now so I'll wrap things up and wish you best of luck for Saturday, and back after racing with today's result.

Birthday Boy

yeah, it's my birthday today and I'm off out shortly so I won't have time to update the blog until tomorrow.

Nothing too thrilling to report so far today in terms of results, although there are still one or two more bullets to be fired, which could yet make this another winning day.

Try and get everything up to date by about 11 tomorrow, give me time to concentrate on getting Saturday's bets on.

Have a good night...

Quite A Day

Thursday 23 April

Time to update yesterday's results and it was quite a day.

In terms of consistency, it doesn't get a lot better than this with 12 tips producing 6 winners, 4 seconds and 2 thirds !

SLH hit the mark yet again, with two winners from two selections on his private service, plus the e/w double advised as well.

A great day for Tipping Legends, with three winners from four selections and the fourth, Ace Of Spies, just getting caught in the last strides having been well clear a couple of furlongs out.

Optimum and Making It Pay between them advised 4 horses at 8/1 or bigger, and found two seconds and two thirds.

Thursday

The evening racing means these are long days.

Off out tonight so haven't got time to do a full update.

Has been a great day though with SLH landing two winners at 3/1 and 9/4 and putting them in an each way double.

Tipping Legends had 4 selections, producing three winners and a 10/1 second - beaten in the last few strides.

Not sure what the final total is, but it's been a great day again and I'll update the full details on the blog tomorrow.

Cracking Day Again

Wednesday 22 April

The Form Analyst had an excellent day today with his two selections Compton Ford winning at an advised price of 7/1 (SP 3/1), and Generous Lad second at 12/1 (SP 7/1) beaten a neck. Was a bit late getting them on today and so missed the price about Generous Lad although I was able to do a bit of in running trading with all three of Graeme's and added to the profits today.

SLH advised Casual Affair at a minimum of 3/1, managed to secure the best available which was 7/2, before the price crashed again and he finished third at an SP of 13/8. No time to trade this one unfortunately, too many bets to put on in my lunch break, but I'm off now until Tuesday and should be able to take advantage of any opportunities.

Steve also advised a place lay of Lodge Lane at Perth. I thought I was on a winner here as I'm sure William Hill called The Market Man as second on their commentary line. However when I got home, I found out that The Market Man had got back up for second and instead of having nearly £100 quid in my Betfair account from this race, I was down £150 instead. Not a great feeling, but not to worry - it was a very good day.

Not the best

Tuesday 21 April

SLH provided the only return of the day with his exchange service. Played in the 7.30 at Towcester and I was on Miss Pross and Safari Adventures. Horses came in first and third, which was a good profit on the bet. However I did a £25 reverse forecast in addition to the advised bet, so I could have done without Safari Adventures getting done for second in the last few strides !

Elsewhere Maths had a rare account bet, and again second was the best I could manage there, and the SLH A/W bet was also second.

Action rounded off by unplaced bets from SLH, Tipping Legends and Making It Pay.

Profit and loss w/e 19/04/09

A losing week to follow the amazing events of last week.

A torrid week, especially for Tipping Legends, whose results would have looked very different had Leamington Lad at 14/1 (traded 1.01 i/r) and Halla San at 12/1 (traded around 1.10 i/r) managed to get their noses in front. However, as always, it's a marginal game either way and this time I was on the wrong side.

Still just over £10,000 in front for the year which is a good place to be and plenty to get stuck in to in the week ahead.

Quiet end to the week

Sunday 19 April

Didn't get the result I was looking for in the golf this morning with Markus Briar eventually finishing in a tie for 8th place - two shots out of the places. His was just one shot behind the (six) joint leaders for a while but couldn't make anything happen on the back nine and gradually faded out of contention. Incidentally I have increased the stakes on the golf bets from this week and I'm now playing at £100 a point.

It was a quiet day on the horses with only SLH in action - on all three of his services and he managed a winner on the all weather and the exchange.

As has been the case in recent days, the mainline tip was heavily backed once it had been given and I was able to take advantage of this by backing the horse to the advised each way stake and then laying off for a risk free bet on Betfair, I was then able to lay both the win and place part in running and I got a few quid when the horse was unplaced, having traded very short in the run.

I also traded Launde in the same race, who was the eventual winner but very pleased to make over £300 on the race from trading, more than compensating for the initial losing bet.

Back later on with the weekly account, retreated somewhat from the peak of last Sunday, but there's a lot of racing scheduled in the coming week and plenty of opportunities to add to the profits achieved so far this year.

Got out of Jail

Saturday 18 April

A lady riders' handicap was the highlight of Saturday for me as Maths' selection Smarty Socks landed the spoils at 13/2, having been backed from a morning price of 10/1.

However, it was a disappointing day otherwise - evidenced by the fact that I lost today despite having a 10/1 winner.

Tipping Legends had another near miss and Tony McCoy was again my nemesis getting The Polomoche back up to deny Halla San near the line.

Nothing doing either from any of the other personal bets and trades I did today, dropping £257 overall - but still nicely in front on these this week.

Not expecting too much tomorrow from the horses but you never can tell - it's been a bit of a retreat from last weekends high point which has come as no surprise really, although good fortune has been in short supply in the last couple of days.

Got a runner in the golf this week, which is always interesting. Had £50 e/w on Markus Brier at 40/1 in the Volvo China Open, and he currently lies in third place going into the final round three shots off the pace. Plenty of players just in behind him so he will need to play well in order for me to collect anything off my bet.

So something to watch in the morning, he tees-off at 5.30am our time, and the coverage starts at 6am on Sky. Will probably set the alarm and then watch it in bed in between snoozes assuming he's in contention. If not then I'll just switch off and go back to sleep.

Most frustrating day ever ?

Friday 17 April

Well possibly, but it was just one of those days which will drive me crazy if I let it.

Just one winner on the day, and a good one from the Making It Pay lads with Haarth Sovereign at 6/1.

A tale of woe elsewhere though with Mighty Massini, Naturally Inspired, Mutually Mine and Leamington Lad all finishing second - the last named traded at 1.01 in running and got chinned in the last strides.

It wasn't a lot better with the personal bets and info - among those were Society Music 16/1, Sohraab 16/1 and Bleu Superbe 10/1 and they all finished second as well !

It looks like the bookies have cottoned on to SLH as well. I rang his first message yesterday. Mighty Massini advised at 8/1 - quick look on Oddschecker and 12/1 was available with Bet365, clicked on the link and when the betting slip came up, I was amazed to see they had cut it from 12/1 to 6/1 in one hit. I actually called the message a bit early yesterday and it was already there - the price was cut one minute before the official time of the message. Either they subscribe to it or they've got an insider, because they can't have laid it. I got my bet on at 10/1 with Ladbrokes.

It's getting harder by the day to get these bets on with the bookies - the bet on Patman Du Charmil had to be split into 5 ! I ask you £150 on a horse and I have to spread it across 5 bets to get that amount on.

I'm going to have to find a way round it because I can't work like this - just takes far too long and it's so bloody annoying.

Also, at various points during the day the Oddschecker, Totesport, Stan James and Boylesports websites all crashed when I was trying to use them - it's a wonder the laptop didn't go through the window yesterday !!

Friday....

Just a quick line to say I'm off out tonight so I'll update the blog tomorrow with all the news from today.

Couple of horses still to run today, but it's been pretty frustrating stuff so far with some big priced places and winners in short supply.

However, should be plenty to go out tomorrow and hope for better luck then.

Not the best

Thursday 16 April

After the amazing results of last week, it was always likely that this week would prove something of a letdown and so it has proved so far, with only Brouhaha finishing in front, another winner for SLH's all weather service in the very last race of the day.

My personal bets and trades couldn't add to the success of yesterday, and I dropped enough here today as well - although the day wasn't without it's moments.

In the 4.55 at Ripon I had a rather long "short-list" of eight horses, which I narrowed down to 5 by the off. For some reason I didn't do the forecasts as I had yesterday and just did the combination tricasts.

As luck would have it I managed to find the first, second, fourth and fifth - but didn't have the third, Pickering, which won for me last week at 14/1. The forecast paid £134.11 and the tricast £1130.73 !! Ah well.

Harbour Blues getting beaten a nose at Wolves rounded things off on the personal bets, so hoping for better fortune tomorrow.

William Hill have showed themselves to be a joke firm now, who deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as BetFred and Sporting Bet.

Asked for £100 today on the phone on Fire and Rain at the top price of 4/1. First call through was referred and then I was cut off, tried again - referred again and offered £25 to win @ 4/1. As it turned out the horse was a non-runner but it's just riduculous now.

Reading the Betfair forum today, it seems they are doing it plenty of others at the minute, altough the thread looks to have been deleted now. Had it pulled have we girls - wonder why ?

Extra, extra, read all about it !!

Wednesday 15 April

Day at home today, indeed off for the rest of the week now - and decided to make a few extra plays today, and it paid off handsomely.

With the services I follow, I get additional information which doesn't qualify as bets on the accounts for various reasons. There's also plenty of good stuff on Graeme's forum, which is a great place to be just now.

The headline tips from the services were disappointing with only one winner, from SLH's all weather team, and a loss of £913. However some of the other stuff was right on the money today, including Boychuk at 17/2 (Opt) and Dawn To Dusk (SLH) at 13/2.

Also used the info for a few forecasts and tricasts betting 4 or 5 horse in each race and managed to get 3 forecasts and 2 tricasts up, including the 3.10 at Beverley paying 374/1 !

Won't list everything I did otherwise I'll be here all night, but it all added up to a decent return and ensured a decent profit overall.

I've mentioned previously my problems getting on with William Hill on the internet, well now they don't seem to want my credit business either. Had £100 on a 14/1 winner with them last week. Since then they've taken a few of my bets with no problem, most of which have got beat - not enough that I'm not in front on their account statement period which finished yesterday so a cheque is on its way to me.

First day of the new account today, going best price about two I wanted to back, rang them through - both got referred, the first one was accepted but the second a £100 bet on My Friend Sandy was halved.

Will continue to try and get on, but time is money on many of these tips so I can't afford to spend 3-4 minutes trying to get a bet on.

I nose a good tipster !

Tuesday 14 April

Was it really only a week since I first followed one of Anthony's tips. Well he found another one today, Macmar advised at 12/1 absolutely hosed up at Exeter.

Big league now mate, going £100 a point on yours from now on LOLOL. Shame you're going on holiday this weekend, but I reckon you've earned it !!!

Nothing too thrilling otherwise with TL the only other of my services to be in action today, although Blockley was beaten a nose at Yarmouth !

Did try a bit of trading on Betfair today, but while I managed a decent risk free position on Billyvoddan pre-race, none of my in-running lays were taken and so nothing to add to the profits there.

Profit and Loss w/e 12/04/09

An absolutely amazing week, one of the best ever and one which shows what is possible when things start going your way.

The highpoint of the week was the 174/1 forecast from Nose Ahead on Tuesday, which returned over £4000, closely followed by The Form Analyst's Something which won at an advised price of 28/1.

Never know what's round the corner in this game, but the flat begins to pick up this week with the Newmarket Craven meeting, and the Scottish National features at Ayr next weekend so there should be plenty of action in the week ahead.

Quiet Day but a profitable one

Sunday 12 April

Easter Sunday and a day off for most of my services, with only Tipping Legends and Nose Ahead in action today and they provided a winner each to round off what has been a truly exceptional week, more of that later with the weekly account round-up.

I will settle the golf bets as losers, as none of them are in contention as the Masters moves into the final round.

I've always enjoyed watching the Masters over the years, but it's all felt a bit flat this year - and that has nothing to do with the fact my bets are going down, although the make-up of the leader board for much of the week probably hasn't helped.

Think I've got used to watching the golf on Sky or Setanta and it seems strange that the TV coverage doesn't start until the action is nearly over for the day. Plus I'm not a fan of Gary Lineker as a presenter, but I guess we're stuck with him for the next 20 years, and the new interviewer they've got this week, Shane, make Rishi Persad seem a consumate professional. I'll still be watching tonight though !

Something tells me I'm into something good !!!

Saturday 11 April

Things were looking a bit bleak at 3.45 this afternoon. At that point I had had 12 bets, and only one of them had finished in the frame. Another big losing Saturday was on the cards.

I needed something special to come along and turn things around - and along came Something !

The Form Analyst advised a 1 point each way bet at 28/1, couldn't see any of that so I had my bet at 30 on Betfair. Trading even bigger just before the off, he was settled in rear and then started his run on the inside bursting through to take the lead just over a furlong out. Now the final furlong at Kempton seems longer than at any other track when you've got one in front, but the horse found plenty and won by half a length and set me up for another big payout.

Elswhere there was very little of note, with three of the tips being advised by more than one service and none of them placing.

The first race at Kempton saw Samarinda, an habitual hold-up horse, fly off into an eight length lead as they came into the straight - however he curled up in the final furlong to finish out of the frame by a nose, and only 1 1/2 lengths behind the winner.

It was a tough start to the day but it all came good in the end.

Continuing to nose ahead !

Thursday 9 April

Well this is turning into quite a special week for me, and Anthony from the Nose Ahead blog did the business once again this afternoon.

Following on from his 174/1 winner on Tuesday, Wun Chai given out each way at 25/1 led all the way and won in good style at an SP of 20/1.

Tipping Legends have had a good week as well, and they added another two winners at 6/1 and 11/2 - Rash Judgement and Fier Normand both proved that not every close call goes against me.

Rare day off tomorrow, what am I going to do ?!

Wednesday 8 April

Yesterday was going to be an impossible act to follow, but if take a look at Nose Ahead's blog on the right it could have happened again - a bit of a tale of woe, one that got away perhaps.

Amazed !!!

Tuesday 7 April

I've been threatening to have a day like today for some time, and although even here there was a bit of a hard luck story, I think I finally got what was due to me today.

One of the newer guys on Graeme's site, Anthony, has recently started posting up his thoughts on the days racing there. His "Nose Ahead" blog is linked to the right on here and he is good ! I noticed he selected a good priced winner at Musselburgh on Friday, and also Bouggler on Saturday at 16/1 at Aintree.

Was having a pretty dismal day at work and happened to read his blog and decided to back his selections today. It was an inspired, if fortunate, decision. The selection for the 3.10 at Pontefract was Bencoolen at 16/1, and also advised was a reverse forecast on Bencoolen and Unbreak My Heart.

Bencoolen led until the last strides, but was caught on the line by Unbreak My Heart - the forecast paying 174/1 !!

Following hot on the heels of a 14/1 winner from Tipping Legends, I think it's fair to say I've had worse days recently.

The forecast bet was with Bet365 who accomodate most of my bets without any problems, which is certainly not the case with other firms.

As I've posted elsewhere today, my days of betting on-line with William Hill certainly appear to be numbered. Today I asked for £100 at 14/1 on Pickering and £100 at 6/1 on Ouste. I was offered £10 on each. Got the rest on with their call centre, and no doubt the victory of Pickering won't have gone un-noticed by them.

However, if they don't want my on-line business anymore then shut my account - don't fuck about with me and waste my time.

It makes me sick to keep hearing all this bollocks about "we've laid so and so to lose 100 grand", "someones had 10 grand on this" and all that crap. Sick to death of seeing all these bookies reps on ATR and Racing UK spouting all this rubbish when the reality is very different.

It's all a fairy story, the only people they are interested in are serial losers, and the dregs who inhabit the shops feeding their roulette machines every day.

OK rant over, it's been a great day today, and I'm delighted.

Off to a bad start

Monday 6 April

Start of a new week, and nothing good to report. The ludicrously named Isabelonabicycle was the closest I came to getting a result - although not that close, 8 lenghts on the flat is pretty emphatic !

Had real problems achieving the advised prices today, didn't help thats Oddschecker wasn't working properly, I must have clicked on about 7-8 prices today which weren't there once I was connected to the bookies site. In truth though, the prices were not holding up at all - clearly they want to keep the windfall they had at the weekend !

Profit and Loss w/e 05/04/09

A good profit this week, but yet again I am left to reflect on what might have been. So near and yet so far has been the story so far this year.

Won nearly £1500 on the week, but I'm disappointed to be honest - seconds at 50/1, 25/1, 16/1 and 10/1 at Aintree, the last two both beaten by just a head show how marginal this game is at the best of times and I've been constantly on the wrong end of it for the last three months.

However, I got off lightly in terms of what I lost on Saturday when the TL text went missing - so perhaps my luck might be turning after all.

Sunday Results

Sunday 5 April

It's getting late, so I will hold over the weekly profit and loss breakdown until tomorrow night as I haven't managed to update all my spreadsheets yet. Seem to have running on half power for most of the evening, can't think why !

Another cracking day for SLH, with two winners from two selections. Stagecoach Amber jumped them silly at Market Rasen, and Cross Cannon was one of the easiest winners of the season.

Could have won more had William Hill allowed me more than £25 at their standout price of 13/2. It wasn't there long though because by the time I'd rung through to their call centre to put the rest on my credit account, they'd cut it to 5/1 - they obviously didn't get enough yesterday !

Nothing doing elsewhere, although Tipping Legends Will If I Want was caught close home, having traded very short in-running, but was beaten by 3/4 of a length, the front pair well clear of the next.

Maths selection was a loser, although he advised a saver on the winner but I didn't back it.

Nothing doing on the golf either, although Alastair Forsyth missed the frame by one shot. Looking at the European Tour website, his run of 4 bogeys in 8 holes from the third proved expensive !

Backed Mon Mome for the National !!!

Saturday 4 April,

.....Unfortunately, that was last Christmas in the Welsh National when he lost at an SP of 9/2.

Yesterday, just over three months later, he goes and wins the big one at 100/1 ! Of course, I wasn't on it yesterday and neither was anyone else standing anywhere near me by the sound of it - I think I would have heard them !

Had a brilliant day out at the national, and have been feeling surprisingly good today considering how many I had yesterday. It was rammed of course, but once we got ourselves organised it was no problem to get a drink, have a bet and watch the racing.

Clearly, the sheer size of the Grand National course means that you have to watch most of the race on the big screens, but we had a good view of the home straight, the chair and the water. The facilities at Aintree these days are excellent, a far cry from when I first went there back in 1990. They've obviously spent a lot of money over the years, and as a day out it is right up there with any of the other big meetings I've attended.

As far as the betting went, I won about £500 at the track, which was very welcome - thanks to Don't Push It and Kalahari King, and the obligatory unlucky second with Issaquah being chinned on the line by the 66/1 Culcabock.

For the blog, it was a bad losing day, but it could have been a lot worse.

The Tipping Legends text arrived while I was queueing to get in, I glanced at it but notice any of the tips. Then when I looked for it once I was in, the text had disappeared from my inbox - as far I know I didn't delete it, but it had gone. I don't have a back-up for this situation, it's never happened before so I was stuck really and left with the painful thought that they might have a great day and I was going to miss out.

As it turned out, they had a very disappointing day, so I saved money there. Howver it could have gone the other way, and I would have been left cursing my misfortune. It's not a situation that will happen very often as I usually have access to my e-mails during the day and the text has never got "lost" before, but I ought to have a back-up just in case.

Most of my other business was from bets placed on the national previously, and from Paul Jones trends service. Not the best day by any means, but clearly it could have been much worse.

Friday Frustrations

Friday 3 April

Another near miss at a big price as Schindler's Hunt was just beaten by Voy Por Ustedes at Aintree. The blunder he made at the second last didn't help of course,
the final winning margin was a head and another £1700 swing against me.

Inchidaly Rock was on Paul Jones' trends shortlist and this one was beaten a head as well, by the 50/1 shot Time For Rupert. Weapons Amnesty was an expensive loser, being tipped up by three of my services and also the first leg of an each way double for TL.

Followed the same staking idea as yesterday, all the extra bets will be recorded as personal bets and trades.

Off to the national tomorrow so the blog won't be updated until some time on Sunday.

Will have to do the best I can with the prices, if a particular bookmaker price is advised then I will go there, otherwise will use Bet365 as my first port of call.

Best of luck for Saturday, have a great weekend.
