Nothing much doing

Wednesday 1 July

Farcical afternoon at Worcester where racing was abandoned after one race when they ran out of water to keep the horses comfortable in the heat.

Considering the course is next to the river Severn and has spent most of the last two years underneath it, you have to wonder at the brains in charge of the place. It's not as if this weeks hot weather was not forecast well in advance.

Still at least they are putting their pockets first, as even though they fucked things up good and proper they are not refunding those racegoers unfortunate enough to be there. Instead they will be allowed to use their tickets at a future meeting. How generous !

On to the racing that did take place, and a loss on the day with no winners, a second and a couple of thirds. Lost out on the place money for the SLH A/W horse as I still do these win only - convinced this is the best strategy with these over the long term, we shall see.

Graeme had another good day with Jonny Lesters Hair third at 16/1. Chris, The Form Guru had one second with Mr Skipiton in the last at Chepstow, going down to the 40/1 shot Onebidkintymill.

It was a quiet day again in terms of the number of bets, but there's plenty of racing over the next three or four days and plenty of opportunities to add to the profits made to date.

Quick mention of a comment made on my blog post dated Friday 19 June. Dave left me a comment to say he was having problems cancelling Chris, The Form Guru and that the Inside Rail had taken his payment despite him giving notice that he didn't want to continue after his free trial. Have read this happening to one or two people elsewhere so if anyone has signed up or is thinking of doing so just be careful.

I happen to think that Chris does seem to know the time of day from what I've seen so far, although there are an awful lot of bets even for me ! I do wonder about his affiliation with the Inside Rail though, they do not have the best of reputations. If you want to read more, check out the comments on the blog for 19 June.

I have advised the Secret Betting Club and will be advising Progambler shortly of similar problems cancelling the Inside Rail Account. I sent a cancellation prior to the end of the trial and yet they still billed me for a months membership. I have put a complaint to Netbanx and demanded a refund. I have also stopped the credit card payment to Netbanx. Stay away from Inside Rail is all I can say!!!
