Friday Frustrations

Friday 18 September

I said last night that I found yesterday a bit frustrating - well yesterday doesn't compare to how I felt after today !

Start with the good news, which was the only winner of the day from TFG - The Which Doctor backed down from an advised price of 6/1 to an SP of 7/2. Both Equine Investments and The Form Analyst gave the horse a positive mention in their messages but declined to tip it - indeed TFA put one up against it, which finished well beaten.

Otherwise today was a pretty trying day.

Nothing doing with any of TFG's other selections, although for what it's worth Felday won it's race in the Ayr Bronze Cup - it was just unfortunate there were eight other horses in front of him racing on the other side of the track !

Saved £100 by not backing Woody Waller, missed the advised price and tried for a match on Betfair, but the money came late and I had to pass.

Nothing doing with either of the Equine Investments selections today.

High Class Equine put up three each way selections, and had Locksley Hall beaten into second having traded at 1.05 in running, Huntingfortreasure second at 16/1, and Ipswich Lad fourth at 5/1.

Isiris were very confident with their bet on Sophie's Beau at Newmarket, and it looked like I was going to land a big win until 50/1 shot Side Glance collared the tip in the last 50 yards - Sophie's Beau traded at 1.14 in running. Rang the line for a possible second bet half an hour later - "devastated" was the word KB used to describe how he felt, the word I used after the race was a bit shorter !

The days action was completed by Kinky Afro - put up on the SLH A/W line, advised each way. Of course I do these win only, and in keeping with the way the day had gone Kinky Afro was second at 12/1, beaten half a length.

Another slap in the face was the victory for Pokfulham at 10/1 at Ayr today - a loser last time out for both EI and Maths.

May as well get all the bad news out of the way tonight - both the selections for the European Tour golf this week have missed the cut so I'll record those results today.

Clearing the decks for a good weekend, that's what I'm hoping anyway !
