Profit and Loss w/e 27/09/09

A very up and down week, but ultimately another profitable one with another £915 added to the pot.

Best results were from betting the extra mentions on the daily messages, particularly the Maths and Equine Investments messages last Tuesday.

Good contribution from Football Elite this week as well.

Maths, HCE and Isiris had a good week, but widespread losses from everywhere else particularly The Form Guru.

Another near miss on the golf, that's three second places and two other top four finishes in the last five weeks. Hope one more big payout can be landed before the year is out.

Pretty modest fair on the racing front in the first half of this week, indeed Monday looks like being very quiet as TFG, TFA, Maths and SLH have already stated there will be no bets.

A busy week in store on the football with a full Football League and Blue Square match list in midweek.

One of the highlights of my year next weekend with my annual trip to Paris for the Arc de Triomphe. Can't wait !

What a crazy week! Amazing to come out with a good profit after losing 3.5k midweek.

Football Elite have got my attention after this weekends results. Like the theory behind the bets and brave to go for the ones he did.

Was a bit skeptical that someone could have an edge in such things as Premiership football but can now see where he is coming from and think I have been won round allready!

I am excited about this one. If Winabob prove to be as good this season as they have in the past im really thinking about dropping racing tipsters from my portfolio alltogether. Equine membership looks closed for the considerable future and without that not sure if it is worth all the daily volatility.

FE + Winbob would be my foundations with a few others I have my eye on providing the backup.

What do you think JP is a non racing portfolio realistic bearing in mind i doubt im not going to get into equine anytime soon?

I love the way your Glass is half full, in my Eyes you have lost 8k from your year highest, I appreciate that is a tough way to look at it.

Hi Shaun,

Good to hear from you mate, I get used to the ups and downs but last weeks was pretty volatile !

I'm also very impressed by Football Elite and Winabob looks a top class operation also.

My first year with both and looking forward to how the season plays out.

Interested to know who you have in your portfolio currently and what your thoughts are on them.

As you say it looks like the doors to Equine are closed for the foreseeable future, but I'm sure you can make good profits without racing if that's the way you want to go.

I've got the golf as well as the football as you know and there's plenty of other sports you can bet on.

However I do enjoy my racing, and the daily ups and downs are what keep me going I think !

Hi anon - glass is always half full, there's no other way to be in my view, otherwise what's the point of getting out of bed in the morning.

Things aren't quite as bad as you think though.

My peak for the year is £51,488 which I hit when Ryan Moore won five weeks ago.

After today I'm standing at just over £49,000 - that's the way I prefer to look at it £49,000 up. As you say, glass half full.

Cheers !

JP - Was virtually all racing a few months ago but had a clearout and at the mo my portfolio is

Football Elite
Winabob
TL Golf
Skeeve
On The Oche
Scottish Football bets
Punter Profits
Maths
SLH
A few forum posters and bloggers

FE + Winabob based on what I have seen so far and what iv read look 1st class and am excited about both.

Skeeve and Oche im happy with. They are niche markets and both have a good edge.

TL Golf I think ill drop when my subs end. Just lost confidence in the whole TL setup. BettingZone Golf looks a possible replacement.

Scottish is a gamble on my part. They had a bad season last year but I subscribed based on the fact they will be desperate to make a profit this season and their long term record is good.

The racing ones you know all about.

It is a portfolio in transition at the moment. Will prob drop the racing ones when my subs end as just dont enjoy the daily grind of it all anymore and the profit isnt spectacular enough to make me do it. With other sports its mainly just the weekend which means ill have more time to actually enjoy the money won + more time to develop my own betting ideas.

Hi Sean,

Looks a pretty balanced portfolio that and I'm sure you'll have plenty of success with it.

You have to make your own calls regarding the racing, you've seen what I've done this year but the variance isn't for everyone.

Saying that Winabob the other night was on course to give me one of my worst nights of the year, so you never know what's round the corner.

Would have liked Skeeve in my portfolio but he is full, and waiting list is also closed.

Think TL golf would be worth keeping - wins are few and far between as you know, but you strike gold when they do come in.

I know the betting zone tips are free and they've done very well, but they tip up 4-5 in every event as opposed to TL who rarely give out more than 2. Something to consider for your staking.

Don't really know much about OTO or Scottish Football, but wish you well with those as well.

Keep in touch, interested to see how you go.

All the best
JP
