Late winner but a bad day

Friday 13 November

Looked like being a truly awful day until Nacho Libre went in at 9/1 at Wolverhampton tonight for SLH's all weather team. Even so I still lost £1400 on the day - that's how bad it was until then.

Stormy night ahead tonight, hopefully Cheltenham will still be standing when we wake up tomorrow !

Tatenen is the one to be on tomorrow in the 2.35 - he's going to love the soft ground. You heard it hear first. 2 unit each way bet recommended at a minimum price of 8/1 with Ladbrokes. Good luck.

Hi JP, do you have any views on http://www.moneymakerreview.com?

Is it worth subscribing to?

Hey JP - I was with you there today :( - heavily backed Legends based on the prior form of the 'specials' service. It's backing days like this that sort the men from the boys... "keep calm and carry on"

Hi Jonathan,

I've already got four tips for the race and Tatenen isn't one of them !

See what else comes through tomorrow, but good luck with your bet.

Hi Anon #2

Get your betting bank ready because it sounds like JC is planning a busy day tomorrow.

Hopefully things will go better than they did today.

Best of luck
JP

Bookmaker update WilliamHill banned my Telephone debit account outright this morning. no more bets accepted, not even 2.50GBP Each way. Account is econimcally unviable, said wernt allowed to sate all reasons why account was banned.
Account had won 4.5k since mid summer.

Fucking hell - the SLH private bet would have won today had the fucking saddle not have slipped three out. He was on the bridle and fucking cruising. Bastard.

A totally shit day with over £1000 lost.

Hi Anon #3,

No surprises with William Hill, they're as bad as anyone else out there now.

They only want losers, up to their eyes in debt - mug punters and addicts only required.

Yeah, well debatable whether it would have won, still a long way from home. But it was going well.

Sorry to hear about your bad day, know all about it. Got one to run at Wolves at 8.50, had 24 tips on the horses so far today - still waiting for my first winner !

Today was awful. I think I am going to take a break tomorrow to recover. The courses are all sodden at the moment and with this wind I think racing tomorrow will be horrific. Take a break from it and regroup on Monday is my advice!

I don't know about you but I find Guy Ward's messages long, rambling and really poor. His form is shocking as your figures show. I'm suprised he doesn't update his feeble website and let prospective customers see how poor his form is. His website is disgusting - no figures, no past results, no indication of form. He is a waste of time. I've scrapped him. As usual his advice on the big race today was flawed and barking mad. I hope he loses all the customers he has. He deserves nothing

Hi JP, I want your advice on betting accounts. I follow SLH and have my own bets too. My Sky Bet account is unuasable, my Ladbrokes account is closed, my Coral account is unusable and I find Betfair frustrating - it is not designed for large stakes (£100 per point) on early prices on poor handicaps, for example - there is seldom enough liquidity at 1pm or earlier. I need a regular bookmaker with some tolerance! Bet365 any good? I think I read before that they let you bet whatever you wanted. Has that now changed? Who are you using these days?

You need to start backing the All Weather bets as advised! If you had followed the staking plan, you would be in more profit. There have been several EW successes recently and it seems you have missed out. It's a pity as the team often selects horse who should be in the frame but not necessarily with the ability to get their head in front. 8/1 is a good each way price with value to be had. Think about it - you are not using the service's advice accurately currently.

Hi Graham,

Head down and carry on tomorrow is what I'll be doing. However if some of the services want to take a day off then I won't complain !

Hi Dwayne,

I can understand your frustration with Maths service, but I don't think wishing him and service to fall into ruins is particularly helpful - although must admit I feel the same way towards David Lyons at Blue Sky !

He has put a review of the flat season with all the results on his website under the "Post scripts" section.

It's not been a good year, and I don't blame you for stopping. I'm going to carry on until my break at Christmas and see how I feel then.

Thanks for your comment anyway.

Hi Jonathan,

I'm pretty much down to a couple of usable accounts in my own name now - with Ladbrokes and Totesport although they are both restricted.

My Ladbrokes credit account seems to be unusable, Corals won't lay anything unless it's bigger on Betfair. Can't get a worthwhile bet on with Hills unless I include it in a double with something else.
With Bet365, Sportingbet, Stan James, Skybet, Betfred, I can't get more than about a fiver on between them.

I am using Betfair more and more although it's not ideal for SLH or EI for the reasons you state, although most of the SLH bets seem to be drifting back to the advised price at the moment.

Bet365 were good for me for a long time, but everyones experience seems to be different. Give them a try by all means, but if you're successful then it's only a matter of time until they clamp down on you.

I'm trying to keep going until Christmas with the accounts I've got and I'll get some new ones in place for next year.

Hi anon,

ref the SLH A/W bets, I prefer to use the plan I'm using.

Profit to advised stakes this year is now 20.71

I've made £1130 to £100 per point.

However I've missed backing 4 of the bets this year and unfortunately for me two of them won - Colorus at 8/1 and Captain Macarry at 3/1. Had I backed these then I'd be where I should be.

Thanks for the comment anyway.

What do you mean by your ladbrokes credit account? What other type of account is there?

David Earl said...

It has been one hell of a shite week. Lets hope the better weather going into next week will signal some improvement. What does the secret betting club give you?

JP said...

Hi anon,

I have (or had) credit accounts with loads of bookmakers going back more than 10 years.

You ring them up for a bet, which goes on to your account with settlement made either way at the end of the accounting period every couple of weeks.

Don't see them advertised much these days, but I expect they still open new ones.
