Madness !

Sunday 15 November

As I mentioned earlier in response to a recent comment, one of the reasons that I write this blog every night is to try and maintain a sense of perspective and detachment from the numbers I'm posting everyday.

The last couple of days though have been something else - even after doing this for more than two years now, to lose £4000 in just over three hours like I did yesterday had my head spinning a bit. Now here I am 24 hours later and I've won most of it back - crazy !

So obviously a very good day today, and was in profit as soon as I woke up this morning as Scott Strange finished tied 9th to land my bet on him to finish in the top 10. First time RG has used that particular bet so it was pleasing to see it come up and ensure a profitable week on the golf.

Punter Profits had three today, but Master Minded was too short to be a bet for me and so I passed. However both of the others won - backed Bureaucrat at 5/4, which drifted out to 11/4 before winning, and Dontpaytheferryman was a nice winner at 4/1 early (SP 3/1).

SLH advised a lay of Bureaucrat which cost me some of the profit on the PP bet, but I got my lay in at 2.96 which was good, but he also advised a back of Well Chief and New Mill against Master Minded so a profitable day on the exchange line.

Tipping Legends found Kyber Kim at Cheltenham, couldn't get the 14/1 advised but comfortably beat the SP of 9/1. However the big bet of the day, Mahonia, came unstuck. Travelled well as they tend to do for Ruby, but nothing there when asked. The other TL bet was a 2pt treble on Tataniano, Master Minded and Reve de Sivola. Combined odds of 5/1 if all three had won, but always a bit annoying when a bet like that goes astray. Still it's been another very good week for JC.

No joy for Paul Jones in the Greatwood Hurdle with Ronaldo Des Mottes finishing well down the field, and Isiris advised an insider bet on Quentin Collonges at 16/1 which was unplaced - an early blunder didn't help his chance.

Just one bet from TFG - a four point bet on Lidar, advised at 7/4 but 6/4 was the biggest price I could see and that wasn't available to me. Lidar finished second at an SP of 11/10.

Tom Segal was in the chair for Pricewise Extra and he advised Lucky At Last at 12/1 at Cork. Couldn't get on to the PW page on the Racing Post site for a minute or so which was enough for the price to be cut to 8/1 which was the price I got. Won nicely at 6/1. Maths had one mention, Berties Dream each way - third at 9/1.

JB says.
Pricewise extra its worth also subscribing to get the mobile texts as well. for those occasions when the site and phone line is 20-30 secs behind. Gives another chance to get the bets on time. May not comein before but alas another chance. costs another 1.50 per day.
but well worth it as todays example 250gbp on at 12/1 and 260 layed off at 7/1 gives just over 1100 profit. first upward movements of profit in about 17 attempts.
I do reckon Tom Seagalls irish selections are the best picks from all the contributors

Hi JB,

Who's laying £250 on PW Extra selections in Irish Races ?
