Profit and Loss w/e 22/11/2009

A losing week despite making a profit of nearly £5000 on Tuesday. However I had a worse second half than Wigan did today.

I've lost The Form Analyst from my portfolio and from what KB said on the Isiris line today, he's doing a bit of naval gazing as to whether he will continue from here.

He's planning a few days off to take stock of the situation - whether it's just a bad run or whether he's "lost it". I'm sure he'll be back though !

A loss of £2,667 drops me back below the £50,000 mark for the year and it's beginning to look as if November will be my first losing month since February. As you've seen a lot can happen in a short time, but I'm currently £7555 down this month with just over a week to go.

Highlight of next weeks racing is Newbury's Hennessy meeting, but there's plenty of action during the week as usual.

Football wise there's a couple of Premier League matches in midweek as well as full programmes in League One and Two and the Blue Square Premier, but the FA Cup second round means no matches in the lower two divisions at the weekend.

Best of luck with your bets next week.

I have to say this has been a shocking year for Guy Ward and the Mathematician betting service. Very poor form. As usual, for a service up shit creek, his website does not mention it. Why can't these people have transparent websites with a list of bets advised and points profit? The Maths website is appaling and the SLH website is pretty poor too. What are these people trying to hide by not revealing their results? This is what any prospective customer will want to know. It doesn't matter if they list some losers, I just want the full picture. Thankfully your blog is more comprehensive than the services you follow! ;-)

It's quite funny that two of your tipsters indicate they are stopping in the same week. I use a few that you use and some different ones, but all of the horse racing tipsters ahve had quite a rough time during Oct and Nov. There have been some good day of course, but very little consistency. The same is true of Hugh Taylor (ATR) and Pricewise Extra (when did they last have a winner). I think this represents something about the end of the turf flat and the Nh just getting underway. Gotta stick with it; long term is the only true measure.

Hi JP

Great read on your blog and very interesting.I'd like to email you re some advice on trading but not sure how I do that. Can you help

Hi Jon,

Maths has put all his results for the flat season on his site. It's under the Post Scripts section.

Not been a good year as you say.

Think SLH should also publish his full results rather than edited highlights.

Hi Colin, well KB's anxiety attack lasted a couple of hours I think ! Or rather common sense regained the upper hand. He recommends a 160 point bank for the account bets and insiders so 320 points in all. The 60 point loss so far this year represents less than 20% of that. Clearly things aren't going well just now, but when that happens with him then the staking plan is going to show a large loss.

Hopefully he'll get back to winning ways before too long.

Got to keep thinking long term as you say.

All the best to you
JP

Hi anon / propunter, if you leave me another comment (which I won't publish) with your e-mail addresses on here then I'll get in touch with you both.

Mate - your punter profits, points YTD is bollox - it's completely wrong. Fix it.

Hi anon,

To make it clear I only joined Punter Profits on 1 September as it says in the YTD results figures for amounts won and lost.

I'll add the same note to the points profits and loss to avoid any confusion.

Mate, it's still wrong. You are quoting a 900 odd quid loss since you've been a member but a points profit since you've been a member. Sort it out!

Reason for the difference - was doing £100 per bet until end of October, then put it up to £200 per bet at which point they went on a losing run.

Also I've missed a 5/2 - was a bet on two systems and I only placed it once.

I don't back the really short priced ones and they've had winners at 4/6 and 8/15 (x3) and also a 4/7 loser.

The only reason I quote profit to advised points is for instances such as these.

Level staking at £200 a point would have given me a profit of £680 to last Sunday, however I was losing £949 as explained above.
