Off the edge of a cliff !!!

The final graph for the year gives an illustration of how badly things have gone over the last couple of months...

Profit and Loss w/e 13/12/2009

Not the end to the year that I was looking for, and this last couple of months has been pretty miserable really and I've finished with a final profit for the year of £37,770, which is below where I was at the end of July.

After taking off the £7,240 subscriptions paid during the year - which I've listed below, the total is £30,530. You can knock off another few hundred quid for phone bills, mobile internet etc

As I've said previously, I'd have taken that at the start of this year but at the moment I feel a bit disappointed really - I'm sure I'll feel differently when I take time to reflect on things over the next couple of days, but it's been a real struggle for the last few weeks, and it's with some relief that I'm now taking a long break from doing this every day.

I'll write a couple more posts over the next day or two with a few thoughts on next year, but apart from a couple of bets to run in the King George and the Welsh National over Christmas, this is far as I go this year.

Got quite a bit to do before I go away on 27 December, I'm then away for just over six weeks and I'll be back on 8 February.

I will be continuing with the blog next year, probably give it a fresh look - as well as shaking-up the portfolio, I reckon I'll be back up and running by the middle of February.

Thanks for all the comments which have been sent this year - they really are much appreciated, and I'm glad that what I'm trying to do has struck a chord with many of you.

Best of luck !

Poor end to the year

Sunday 13 December

After a decent day yesterday, I was hoping that I might be able to consolidate that today. It wasn't to be though, and I ended up giving most of yesterday's profits back.

The day started in ominous fashion, as the SLH tip San Marino whipped round at the start and refused to race. A great way to lose £200.

Couple of winners on the day - Seek The Fair Land, was backed right down to an SP of 11/8, was advised at 3/1 by Equine Investments, but I was still in bed when the text came through and 5/2 was the best I could manage !

The only Equine bet today, Hector Spectre, was also given out by Isiris - whose recommendation is enough to stop a train at the moment, and sure enough the 6/4 favourite trailed in fourth of the five runners.

The other winner was Keyneema for The Form Guru, which won at 9/1. A profitable day for Chris could have been better with two big priced places both advised win only - The Hudnalls (adv 12/1) and Pension Plan (SP 20/1).

Just one today from Tipping Legends, with Fazbee finishing unplaced.

Turned out to be a very expensive day though, as the golf bets placed earlier in the week came up dry - James Kingston, advised each way at 50/1 actually led the tournament twice on the opening two days, but couldn't maintain his challenge.

A rare poor weekend for Football Elite, with two draws and a loss today from bets placed on Friday, meaning four losing bets over the weekend.

Khyber cures the headache !

Saturday 12 December

At last some good news to report.

By far the best result of the day was Khyber Kim winning the Boylesports International at 12/1. That was the only selection of the day from Punter Profits, and after the run of results lately it was great so see the horse come up the hill in front - backed it on Betfair as well so did better than the SP which was even better.

A winning account bet for Maths and Equine Investments today - but only just. They both went for an each way bet on Headache at Southwell, and all looked well with a furlong to go - until Convince started to rattle home.

It was a sickening feeling as it looked as if Headache would get chinned on the line, and after what's happened in the last few weeks that would have been too much.

Headache was favourite in the photo on Betfair, but the judge's verdict was a dead-heat. Not quite what I wanted to hear, but I'll take it.

Maths had a great day - two mentions as well as the account bet, including Hard Ball which won at 9/1. Got a bit of 15 on Betfair, the rest at 12/1 and Betfair SP.

Had to wait for the last race of the day for the second Equine bet - Onceuponatime could only finish fourth, despite trading odds-on in running, so the bet went down, as did the each way double advised with Headache.

As was the case yesterday Tipping Legends first bet of the day - French Opera - won, but same as yesterday, there was nothing to add to it and so a small loss on the day for JC.

The Form Guru ended up with five bets today, and one winner which produced a profit although I backed Watch My Back on Betfair at 5.5, so didn't get the benefit when it drifted to an SP of 6/1.

The revival of Isiris has proved to be short-lived, and another main account loser today with Mobaasher only managing third place behind Inchidaly Rock, and never looked for a moment like it might get involved in the shake-up. So despite Mr Booth taking personal charge of the selection of the account bets, the loss is now worse than it was two weeks ago ! See what he has to say about it tomorrow.

SLH put up a lay of Pipo De Re on his exchange line - came second, but the all weather line had yet another loser with Daaweitza finishing third.

Paul Jones put up two in the Boylesports Gold Cup, but frustratingly Razor Royale finished second and Chapoturgeon fourth behind Poquelin. Three seconds in the last four weeks on this service now, all to Nicholls horses - Kauto Star, Denman and now Poquelin. Frustrating !

No joy on the football so far this weekend with Stoke only managing a draw with Wigan for Football Elite, and Winabob had one winner and two draws from the three bets advised. Usual story for Winabob - MK Dons scored their winner in the 89th minute, Newcastle were pegged back in the 87th, and Hibs hit the cross bar in injury time !

Why why why Delilah

Friday 11 December

When Weird Al won the first at Cheltenham at 11/4, my first bet of the day went in and I was hopeful that finally I might spike this terrible run.

However normal service was quickly resumed when Noble Alan, a short priced main account bet for Isiris, and also one of two put up on SLH's exchange line, was turned over by I'm Delilah in the first at Doncaster.

That set up the familiar miserable tone to the day, whereby I had to endure another afternoon of loser after loser, until Time For Rupert won the 3.0 at Cheltenham at 16/1.

That still wasn't enough to prevent another big loss today, and with just two more days to go until I stop for the year, things could hardly be going worse than they are at the minute.

At the end of October, it was looking like I might clear 60K this year assuming a steady last couple of months. However, you can never assume anything in this game and, after taking account of subs, it looks like I'll barely clear half that unless something dramatic happens this weekend.

As I said the other night, I'd have taken this at the start of the year, but it's been a big reality check about the perils of what can happen when things start to go wrong.

As expected today was very busy, with the Tipping Legends NH special accounting for a fair proportion of the bets given out.

A good start as I said with Weird Al winning at 11/4, even got an extra £100 thanks to the BOG but that was the only bet to produce a return all day. Heads On The Ground was a big each way bet in the Cross Country chase but, despite leading over the last, the hill took it's toll and the horse faded rapidly into sixth place. Nothing else looked like collecting until Macaillou in the 3.0 - given a waiting ride at the back, it didn't find as much as it's jockey seemed to expect and finished fourth and of course there were only fifteen runners so only three places !

Isiris are having a poor week again after showing signs of recovery last week, with According To Pete finishing unplaced as well as the bet on Noble Alan going astray. The loss since September is back over 100 points.

SLH came up empty handed on all his services, Solway Minstrel and Et Maintainant were unplaced on the mainline, Secret Tune was given out with Noble Alan in the 12.50 and that lost as well, and the all weather horse Handsinthemist drifted ominously in the pre-race betting from 4/1 to 8/1, but ran better than the market suggested and finished third. No good to me though.

Punter Profits run goes on, although thankfully only one bet today - Wolf Moon, well backed, but was beginning to struggle when he belted the second last, and that was that.

Equine Investments were beaten to the punch by Hugh Taylor who put up Desert Dust at a bigger price, but EI wanted to wait until Ladbrokes and Corals had priced up before giving the bet out. In the end he played to half stakes, as 7/1 was still worth a bet as he consdired the horse an 11/2 shot. As it was, the horse got beat anyway.

The Form Guru has a happy knack of finding big priced winners and was on the mark with Time For Rupert at 16/1, and Qhilimar wasn't beaten far either at a double figure price in the race before.

Forgot all about looking at the Pricewise Extra selection until after it had run - and lost, so saved a bit there at least.

No doubt I will be going out this weekend with all guns blazing - whether I like it or not ! It would be great if I could finish off the year in style.

Smoke On The Water

...that must be me crashing and burning again !

Thursday 10 December

Another day of absolute torture, with twenty one bets producing just a single winner at 5/2, and a successful lay from SLH.

Even then, the lay only lost because it fell at the last when in the lead !

The current run has dropped me back below £40,000 for the year after today's latest disaster, and I've now lost £17,000 in the last five weeks - scary stuff.

Got the two day Cheltenham meeting coming up and no doubt will have bets coming out of my ears again - need something to go my way.

Today, as alluded to in the headline Deep Purple was my bogey horse - not for the first time either. He chinned Tamarinbleu in the Charlie Hall at the end of October, so safe to say I'm not a fan !

Another ridiculous situation in the Peterborough Chase - where I had four different horse tipped, five with the Pricewise Extra selection - there were only seven runners ! Not one of them put Deep Purple up though, so once again I was left cursing as he romped to victory. Tartak would have been my best result, but he blundered away his chance with a poor round of jumping.

The only winner of the day was Kerada for Tipping Legends, but on a busy day that still meant a loss of £400 on their bets today.

Nothing doing from The Form Guru either, and no hard luck stories either today - and they're struggling as well this month, with over 50 points lost since the first, when they had a good day.

I'm running out of things to say about Punter Profits, but another three losers today including two at very short prices.

Pure system bets these, and it was pointed out on their message board last night that in the last three years covering over one thousand bets, they've had seven losing runs of 10 or more - with four of them in November and December this year ! It was in November when I increased my stakes - talk about timing.

The two bets from Isiris were in the Peterborough Chase as well - with Albertas Run in third and Something Wells falling.

Four bets in total with Pricewise Extra and the Maths mentions, and I lost another £60 on Betfair today, messing around trying to get a better price on one of the bets.

Unrelenting Misery

Wednesday 9 December

Well this run will come to an end eventually, but there's no sign of it at the moment.

Another shocking day with only one winner, Mr Strachan, for Isiris and it means I've now had 15 losing days in a row on the horses.

Mr Strachan won at the advised price of 4/1 having got the better of Huka Lodge in a close finish at Hexham with the pair well clear. A busy day for Isiris but that was the only winner.

An each way account bet on Cast Of Stars at 5/2 finished second to the enterprisingly ridden Red Courtier - mine never being given a chance and the final margin of 6 lengths was as close as it got. She's Humble advised at 10/1, drifted to 12/1 and finished unplaced.

The final bet was a typical Isiris special - in other words, a bet you could not possibly get on ! A three point each way double on King Ozzy (against 2/5 fav) and Birch Hill Bedouin (against 1/3 fav). Ladbrokes, William Hill and Totesport allowed me £20 each way between them, Corals wouldn't lay me a penny and I can't get more thatn buttons on with anyone else so that was as far as I got. As it was the bet went down with Birch Hill Bedouin unplaced - it would have gone down in the first had the favourite not fallen at the last with the race at his mercy !

Desperate luck for The Form Guru today as 8/1 tip Runshan made a bold bid to make just about all the running, only to be collared right on the post by 40/1 shot Bubble Boy. The judge took fully five minutes before he called the result - but given the current run I'm having it was obvious the way it would go, the winning margin was a nose - Runshan having traded at 1.03.

An hour later it was the same story as Fruity O'Rooney (advised at 12/1) set out to make all, jumped brilliantly only to make a mistake at the last, and then couldn't withstand the late run of Shadow Dancer under McCoy to go down by half a length in the shadows of the post.

Punter Profits and SLH's all weather line are on desperate runs and both added another loser to the growing list.

PPNH system gave out Deep Reflection (as did SLH on his Exchange line, as well as Power Shared) in the same race as Fruity O'Rooney, which made the narrow defeat of that one all the harder to take.

Had to wait until the last race of the night for the latest all weather loser with Royal Society never sighted.

A winner for Maths with Mickmacmagoole, one of his mentions today - a few of these have been winning lately, which is all the more annoying given the poor performance of his account bets this year.

Both the Equine Investments mentions were turned over, and a desperate attempt by me to try and make something happen failed dismally when I combined the Pricewise Extra horse (whose price I had missed and so didn't back) and one of EI's mentions into a £50 reverse forecast - Hurakan (PWE) finished fourth and Green Wadi was last !

Lousy day again

Tuesday 8 December

More of the same I'm afraid, and another day of no winners and big losses.

Only three of the services were in action, but that was enough to produce ten losers and one each way place return.

Expensive day on the Tipping Legends account which was estabished early in the day with four point and three point losses in the early part of the Southwell card. Two selected in the Southwell 3.0, but neither of these troubled the judge either.

The Form Guru was back in action after a couple of days off, but he came up empty handed from six bets.

The final TFG bet was Sebastiano in the 3.40 at Fontwell, where Isiris had put up Mister Pous each way.

Didn't see the race as I was working, but listened to the commentary on the phone - and coming to the last my two were in there pitching with Noun De La Thinte, the three of them well clear.

Inevitably, given the current run, the other one won - by a short head - from Sebastiano, with Mister Pous in third, with both of mine trading as low as 1.42 in running.

Never got on the Pricewise Extra selection, as the advised price on Isle de Maurice (2pts win @ 7/2) had long since disappeared by the time I was able to check - the horse winning at an SP of 2/1.

See what happens tomorrow !

Struggling on

Monday 7 December

Start of a new week, but no return to winning ways on the horses.

Most of the services sat the day out, but Punter Profits put up another horse which qualified under two of their systems, and another near miss as Natural Action could only finish third beaten less than two lengths. As with many of the recent losers it traded at short odds in running, but no good to me and the losing run goes on.

Talking of bad runs, SLH's all weather line is going from bad to worse at the moment. 15 straight losers now and the service is barely in profit from nearly 200 bets this year. River Kirov was today's bet - advised at 5/1 at 12 noon, it was an ominous sign that I could back it on Betfair at 8/1 at 12.50 - sure enough, returned at 9/1 and finished 10th of 12.

Two from Tipping Legends today with Waahej advised each way finished third to Iron Out (the other one JC liked in the race), but the win bet on Restless Genius in the last race of the day went astray.

Missed the Pricewise Extra bet today - Wizards Dust had already run, and lost, by the time I had my lunch break.

Profit Graph

Thought I'd update the graph as I've not done it for a while - shows how things have fallen away in the last few weeks.

Profit and Loss w/e 06/12/2009

Another losing week, the seventh in the last ten weeks, and the overall profit figure has taken a bit of a hit recently.

However if I been offered just short of £44,000 at the start of this year, then I would have bitten your hand off.

The last few weeks have been an eye opener though, and I'm realising that I've been pushing my luck somewhat with the stakes I'm playing with at the moment.

From November 2008 to the end of October this year, I had only one losing month - back in February - and won £67,000 in that time, and it's easy to get swept along thinking that you will just go on winning all the time.

Of course that is not possible, and the present run is an inevitable correction to what has happened in the last 12 months.

It's not as easy as raising the stakes and the profits automatically increasing - it doesn't work that way, indeed I'm below where I was at the end of August after this weeks results.

I'm giving a lot of thought to how exactly I'm going to play things next year - which services I want to include in the portfolio, how I'm going to incorporate trading into my daily plays, and which other strategies to employ to maintain what I've done so far, and ensure a decent income for me while protecting the bank.

I'll leave things as they are for the rest of this year as there isn't much time left now - I was intending that Sunday 20 December would be the last day before my break, however I might finish next Sunday as I have quite a few things to do before I go away.

I get back in early February next year and plan to be up and running by the middle of the month.

As for the week ahead, there's a two meeting at Chelthenham on Friday and Saturday which should give me plenty of action, and plenty of football as well including a full midweek programme in the championship as well as next weekends games.

Hopefully a profitable week coming up - best of luck !

A step in the right direction

Sunday 6 December

Adam Scott duly won the Australian Open golf title overnight - the eventual winning margin was five shots, and ensured I started the day with something to play with.

It turned out I needed it as the four selections put up by the racing tipsters all got turned over.

Punter Profits systems continue to struggle at the moment - with three bets today all going down, a second and two thirds.

Just one from Equine today - with Monsieur Reynard unplaced in the first at Lingfield.

Maths had a good winner with one of his mentions as Fine By Me got back up to deny Tarquinius who traded at the minimum of 1.01 on Betfair. Was on the other side of things in the next race at Warwick as Amble Forge (Pricewise Extra) was collared by Russian Flag after touching 1.02 in running.

As yesterday just one bet from Football Elite - but it was a winner as Fulham beat Sunderland 1-0.

Same old same old

Saturday 5 December

This miserable run shows no sign of coming to an end and another £1277 to add to the current losses.

Highlight of the day was probably backing the Pricewise Extra selection Le Beau Bi at 14/1 (was given at 16/1 but couldn't get that) which slogged its way through the Chepstow mud.

Twist Magic was the other highpoint - advised each way earlier in the week by Isiris at 7/2 - 4/1, with three places, when he pointed out that very few of those declared would actually run in the race.

Two other each way bets from Isiris today, with Pascha Bere finishing third, but Andorn was beaten before the race started if the market was any guide - advised at 11/2 25 minutes before the race, started at 10/1 and was being pushed along with a lap to go. Eventually pulled up having never got out of last place.

Twist Magic was also put up by Tipping Legends today at 5/2, but that was their only winner on the day and a 4 point loss.

One winner also for The Form Guru with Cross Kennon winning at Chepstow, and I was grateful for the BOG here as the SP of 5/1 was much better than the advised price of 7/2.

Another bad day for Punter Profits with two short priced selections beaten into second by their only market rival, and two others advised in the Tingle Creek where I already had significant bets on Twist Magic, so another blank day there.

Two short priced ones from Equine today, and they both got beaten - Benedict Spirit ran no sort of race and could only finish a distant fourth, while Istiqdaam (also the SLH A/W pick) was backed all the way in to 11/10 but was beaten a neck by Dash Back. The Equine mention was beaten as well.

SLH was on Alderluck on his mainline, but the horse was never travelling and eventually finished fourth.

Maths had a few mentions today - already had a couple of them covered but had a 9/4 winner and an each way second at 13/2 - beaten by a 100/1 shot.

No joy on the football either - only one bet today from Football Elite, and nothing doing with Nice losing at home to Marseille.

It looked like Winabob might get a long overdue change of luck when Swansea took the lead in the 92nd minute at Peterborough, however there was still time for the Posh to equalise in the 95th with virtually the last kick of the game. Just what was needed to follow on from the Barnsley fiasco last Saturday !

One bright spot tonight is the golf where Adam Scott is two shots clear of Stuart Appleby going in to the final round of the Australian Open - with a further five shots back to Nick O'Hern in third place.

I'm on win only - £100 @ 11.5 on Betfair, and he's currently trading at 1.6 to lay on Betfair. See how my luck is on this one !!!

Nick Watney has probably left his charge in the Nedbank Challenge too late, but after shooting 63 today, he is five shots off the lead, and three off the third place he needs to land my 14/1 each way bet. Unlikely but you never know !

Hard Going

Friday 4 December

Ten straight losing days now and the profits for the year are taking a bit of a hit. Just have to wait for things to turn again, as they will, but I could do with a good weekend to get back on track.

Was out for a few beers last night, hence the late update for Friday.

Been a pretty frustrating week, summed up by Rivaliste - a selection under two of the Punter Profits systems. Led all the way round and clear jumping the last, trading as low as 1.03 in running before Doctor Pat came from miles back to nut him right on the line by a nose..

That was the cue for me to get out for a few hours, and things didn't really get a lot better after that.

Equine got their all weather season off and running with Sabatini at Lingfield, but the second bet of the day Across The Sands could only manage fourth.

Six losers from The Form Guru, with Newbay Bob in third place the best they could manage. The first bet of the day, Guydos set the tone for the day when falling at the first.

Tipping Legends ended up with just one bet with the cancellation of the last two races at Exeter - JC was also on Newbay Bob, but each way and so I got just a little more than my money back.

SLH gave Swincombe Rock, despite a reservation over the trip - but could only finish second, and the all weather line had yet another loser with Southandwest unplaced at Wolves.

Still quiet

Thursday 3 December

Just one winner today with Quinte Du Chatelet for Punter Profits, selected by two of their systems and an easy winner.

Another SLH Exchange bet unmatched today, Sweet World was advised as a lay at 3.2 which was the price when the message was recorded. There was plenty trying to lay 3.25 by the time I looked at the market - left an order at 3.2 and it never got filled. Seems to be an increasing problem recently, had five unmatched in the last couple of weeks.

Would help if the message on the exchange line wasn't released at the same time as the main line, I've sent an e-mail suggesting he delays the exchange message by 5 or 10 minutes but haven't heard anything back. As it stands, with the way the markets react to his bets, it isn't practical to follow both services.

Couple of good places for The Form Guru, with The Pious Prince second at 14/1 (beaten by a 50/1 chance) and Zen Factor at 16/1 (got 14/1) third behind Quinte Du Chatelet.

Maths had Ella Woodcock as an account bet today, but could only manage second place and it doesn't look as if I'm make anything on these this year with only a couple more weeks to go.

Couple of losers from Tipping Legends today, including Tourist who finished third in the Wolverhampton 4.45 - put this in a reverse forecast with Equine's mention today, Toto Skyllachy but nothing doing.

Losses are getting smaller !

Wednesday 2 December

Today made it eight losing days on the trot, but only a £12.50 loss today so things are heading in the right direction and so I should make a profit tomorrow !

This afternoon was a struggle though with the only winning bet Skippers Bridge for Isiris, and that was only to cover the bet on Flash Cummins in the same race - clever bet which didn't pay off but got all the stake money back. However the other Isiris bet Original Fly finished second - badly let down by its jumping down the far side which left it a long way out of its ground, the horse staying on all the way up the home straight but couldn't get anywhere near the winner.

Three losers from The Form Guru this afternoon and one for Tipping Legends meant the Kempton 8.50 was the pivotal race of the day for me with three tips running in the race.

Tipping Legends were on the winner Daddy's Gift, got on at 6/1 - 7/1 with BOG this afternoon, so pleased with the SP of 15/2. The other tips Pearley Way for TFG and Dvinksy (SLH A/W) were unplaced.

Equine Investments didn't have a bet today but looked at the 8.50 - Fasthsta was the horse which was a possible mention but they decided not to get involved. The way things have been going lately, it would have been no surprise to see Fasthsta win - and he should have, meeting loads of trouble in running before failing by half a length to catch Daddy's Gift - maybe things are looking up after all !

The Form Guru service

I received an e-mail today from Rob at the Inside Rail in response to a comment I made yesterday regarding an enquiry on here about The Form Guru service.

I'll put it up here exactly as it was sent to me. I haven't got much time tonight but I will be sending Rob a reply later in the week, and he is keen to receive feedback about the service, so either contact him direct or leave a comment here.

*****

Hi JP,

I am Rob, I work for the Inside Rail and have in the last few days taken over the day to day running of the service. Ian has recently left us due to personal problems, and it has come to our attention that he has not exactly been keeping on top of correspondence. I know that Ian and Chris have read your blog in the past, but I have just had a look at it myself. I have to say I am very impressed with your profits and indeed your dedication to the blog and answering all of the many questions you get asked. If possible I would just like to address a few issues that have been posted about our service recently, and I am hoping you will post this email on your main page, rather than the comments section, so that people will see it, and may ask any questions they wish to.

Firstly, as I said it seems that Ian has not been on top of the correspondence in the last few months, and some people may not have got an answer when contacting him regarding the service or indeed cancellations. I can assure everyone that now I am in charge this will not be an issue, and I will answer all emails as soon as is humanly possible.

The query regarding profit and advised prices is one that crops up a lot, and I have to agree it has caused a few problems. I check all of the prices on Oddschecker seconds before the emails are sent out every day, and the quoted prices is the best available as quoted by the site at the time of sending. I can categorically say that these are NEVER exagerated, and absolutely are quoted on Oddschecker at the time of sending. As you know, our selections are generally very well backed, and I guess a lot of it would boil down to how many people open the emails before you and how much they are backed before each subscriber manages to get on. We do have a few big hitters, and if they get on early then obviously the price is likely to crash.

The whole ethos of our service is based on value and long-term profits, so I am sure you will agree we have to put up advised prices. It really would not be fair for us to be judged on SP, when it is generally our information that drives the price down in the first place. Saying that, anyone backing our selections in 2009, even to SP, would still be comfortably in profit, which in itself is an indication of just how good the information has been. I believe we have one of the best form readers in the game in Chris, he has an uncanny knack of spotting value, and the prices absolutely are available at the time of sending. I understand the point that they may only be available at certain bookmakers, and not everyone will have an account with them all, but I would recommend that people do open accounts with all of the firms, then they should be able to match, or at least get close to our advised prices. I know that some people only use Betfair as well, and in fact selections have often been a bigger price on the exchanges than the advised prices. Taking today as an example, MY SHAMWARI was generally available at 4/1 when we sent the emails out, and was heavily backed into an SP of 2/1. The 4/1 was available at SIX firms at the time of sending. Some people may not have picked up the email until later, and managed to only get 3/1 or shorter, would it be fair for us to not quote the 4/1 in our profits, when it was so widely available? Likewise, POWER SHARED was available at 8/1 with SEVEN firms at the time of sending. He opened 13/2, and was backed in to an SP of 5/1. I am not sure what the answer is, if you have any ideas I’d be happy to consider them.

I feel we offer a tremendous service and exceptional value at £35 per month, after a 30 day trial. What I want most is for the service to be viewed as honest, open and transparent. Hopefully I can take the service forward and achieve this.

I am very happy to answer any questions,. If anyone has any, please email me at info@theinsiderail.co.uk and I shall get back to you as soon as possible.

I have also take on board criticisms of the website, and how confusing it has been in the past to work out what each of our 2 services offer. I am not a web designer, but I have updated it so that is hopefully now less confusing. It is still far from perfect I realise, but hopefully I will be getting a new website built in the new year. Any feedback on this is welcomed also.

Regards
Rob

Out of luck

Tuesday 1 December

A new month but no immediate change in fortunes, though how I managed to lose today I'm not quite sure.

A couple of good winners from The Form Guru over the jumps with My Shamwari and Power Shared. Close call as well with another one of their selections, Basra who was caught right on the post to finish second beaten a head.

That was one of four seconds I had on Tuesday - the combined losing distance of the four was less than a length.

Isiris couldn't build on yesterday's winner as Edward Whymper finished second, failing to reel in the winner by half a length.

Punter Profits recent poor run continued, with Owen Glendower finishing a neck down in second in the last race at Southwell.

Equine Investments were back in action today after their break, but it wasn't a winning return with Can Can Star losing in the Lingfield 3.0 - although only beaten a head, a head and a short head back in fourth place.

The second in that race was TFG's Basra and the third horse Hurakan was the selection on both SLH's all weather line and for Pricewise Extra. So effectively a four way photo and I had the second, third and fourth !!!

Equine didn't have any further account bets but gave mention to Lord Deevert and Makshoof in the Lingfield 2.30, which finished second and third - Lord Deevert "headed last stride" by the favourite Ask Jenny and lost by a head.

Two selections from SLH's exchange line in the 12.20 at Southwell but as has been the case once or twice lately I couldn't get a match on one of them. Fortunately for me Sarobar came nowhere, but so did Coast Of Malobar who I did get on.

Winabob had just one bet on tonight's football, and their good recent run continued with AFC Wimbledon winning 2-0 at Salisbury in the Blue Square Premier

Added £100 to the loss today with a losing football bet of my own tonight.
